EMPOWERMENT WELLNESS CHALLENGE
Together, we are stronger, wiser, and more courageous than we realize.
WE GOT THIS!
Welcome to the Empowerment Wellness Challenge! This challenge is for participants, staff, family, and friends of our Empowerment community. In today's world with COVID19, we are experiencing isolation from our loved ones, community, and support systems. We hope to create a supportive place for us to make changes to help support our health, wellness, and personal empowerment. Challenges are not necessarily fitness related, we are strengthening our minds and bodies by practicing self-care and engaging in community support.
Set goals, not limits: Our minds tend to get hung up on what we can't do, our current limitations -- how we can't run a mile without stopping, how we still can't touch our toes after all these years. Choose to see these obstacles as opportunities to set goals for yourself that match your abilities and desires.

Every Friday, a new set of challenges will be e-mailed to you. Please register at the bottom of this page.
WEEK 3 - January 15-21, 2021
Challenge #1: Clean or organize something that you know will make you feel better. This could be an area of your home, a drawer, a closet, your email inbox, or any part of your life you can think of!
Challenge #2: Write a forgiveness letter to yourself forgiving your past, or write a letter of encouragement for your future.
Challenge #3: Draw yourself as a tree. Your roots will be loaded with descriptions of things that give you strength and your good qualities, while your leaves can be the things that you're trying to change.
Some of you have reached out expressing some challenges to the Draw Yourself as a Tree Challenge.
Here are some tips...
Here are some tips...
- Think of the tree as not only a drawing exercise, but a writing exercise.
- Be open to creating something different than you first imagined.
- Let go of what a tree is supposed to look like.
- Some of the roots beneath us are from other trees, supporting us when our roots are weak.
- Some of the branches intertwine with other trees, high-fiving us when we need encouragement.
- Imagine the tree swaying in the warm summer winds or bracing itself in the brisk winter snows.
- You can use the drawing of a tree below or draw your own. Keep it simple if that feels right.
- Write in the tree branches the things you may be letting go of or bringing into your life, like leaves falling or blossoming.
- Write in the trunk something you hold close to your heart or deep in your gut, supporting the branches above.
- Write in the roots the things that keep you grounded. These are people, places, or things that you have or what we are needing in our life.
Since this is our first time setting up a challenge like this, we would love your feedback on how we can make it better!
