As staff at Empowerment, we have a role in assisting our participants with obtaining both education and access to reliable information about the vaccine as it becomes readily available to all. Regardless of whether you would like to get the vaccine or not, we have provided you with information, education, and different points of view to help you make your decision. 

Please note that Empowerment staff are NOT medical providers and cannot tell anyone whether they should get the vaccine.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE VACCINE:

Fast, accurate and consistent testing is one of the most critical public health strategies for containing COVID-19. COVIDCheck Colorado helps communities to reopen safely through the most proactive and equitable testing system in the country.
The State of Colorado is currently overseeing all distribution of all available FDA-approved vaccine doses and sets the priority for allocation and distribution. The City and County of Denver is committed to a fair and organized response to support residents receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Kaiser Permanente
Go to kp.org and complete the “COVID-19 Vaccine Sign-Up” e-visit. You can also call 1-844-951-1932 to complete the same short questionnaire. After completing the survey, you will be notified on a first-come, first-serve basis, when the vaccine supply is ready for you.

UC Health
To get on the vaccine waitlist for UCHealth, you must first verify what phase of vaccine distribution to which you belong. The link above shows you how to do it from a computer, mobile app, and using a phone. ​

Project Angel Heart
Project Angel Heart is currently hosting COVID vaccination clinics at their facility on Mondays. Individuals can also email [email protected] or call 303-407-9433 to set up an appointment. The clinic is following the State’s phased distribution plan which is currently in Phase 1B4 and ensures that anyone living with HIV is eligible.

King Soopers
King Soopers is scheduling first & second shots https://www.kingsoopers.com/rx/covid-eligibility currently just by the week.

We understand that not everyone will be comfortable getting the vaccine and we honor your decision to do so. If this is the case, here are some things that you can do to keep yourself safe and minimize your chances of getting the virus:​

  • Wear a mask (maybe two!)
  • Stay 6 feet apart from everyone
  • Wash your hands THOROUGHLY!
  • Minimize contact with people outside your household

If you are still unsure about your decision to get the COVID-19 vaccine, you can reach out to these individuals to talk to them about their experiences, thoughts, and concerns they had leading up to getting the vaccine.
