Great article, well written and thought provoking. I would wonder about the sexual selective/evolutionary origins of some men's emotionality and in this case, extreme anger. Often times there is a cultural norm, selected on by women and men equally, for men to be jealous, violent, and to exhibit peacock style competitive behavior while vying for women and their love or attention. If we focus too much on the objective behavior of men, we lose the ability to see women's role in perpetuating this type of behavior as important selectors of mate choice. There are evolutionary implications to behavior which would be fascinating to couple with this article. One might explore the Male Disposability Hypothesis and how males are socialized to be expendable and less likely to think about the consequences of action, specifically going to jail. https://quillette.com/2019/06/03/considering-the-male-disposability-hypothesis/
